Editor-in-Chief is Elena V. Kudryashova, Dr.Sci.(Phil.), Professor, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov.

"Arctic and North" is an online scientific periodical that has been published continuously since 2011. The journal is focused on the Arctic and North from the perspective of economics, social and political studies.

The journal is published for the wide audience: scientific community, universities, research institutions, federal, regional and local governments, business, culture, and to everyone involved or interested in the Arctic and North.

The Journal is registered by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media (ROSKOMNADZOR) as an online media published in Russian and English: Registration certificate ЭЛ No. ФС77- 78458, issued on the 8th of June 2020. All articles in Russian can be found at Elibrary.ru and in scientific digital library CyberLeninka.ru.

The journal is included in the List of authoritative scientific publications ("The White List"), in the List of Q2 RSCI Journals, and in the List of Q2 RSCI Journals on the Subject of OECD 507 Social and Economic Geography.


According to the Letter of the Supreme Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation dated December 6, 2022 N 02-1198 “On the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications,” publications in the online scientific journal “Arctic and North”, indexed in the scientometric Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) database are equivalent to publications of the K1 category, which present the main scientific results of dissertations.
